Comtex Sports Quartz Watch Review

Comtex Sports Quartz Watch Review

I was in the mood today to review something a little unique, a watch brand that you may have never heard of before. The brand is called Comtex, and the specific model that we are going to review today is called the Comtex Men’s Sports Quartz Watch.

Fashion Design

Minimalism and simplicity is very trendy at the moment in many areas of the fashion world. The trend is affecting all areas of fashion, whether it’s formal attire for a wedding, casual wear on the weekends or smart casual for work, minimalism, and cleanliness is the name of the game. This trend has of course also affect the timepiece market, and so we are seeing watches with very clean case designs, bare dials, and small smooth bezels.

The Comtex has totally aced it in terms of following in line with this trend. Not only is it all black, making it stealth, but it’s also pairable with almost anything in your wardrobe to ensure you walk out of your house looking as gentlemanly as possible.

The face of the watch is super easy to read, as the hands are a nice polished chrome backing onto a black background. The 12, 3, 6, and 9 are all marked with double indicators, allowing you to read the time quickly and efficiently, which is quite handy considering this is a sports analog watch. The indicators are also illuminated in the dark, which always comes in handy.

Comtex Functions

The Comtex is not just limited to looking the part, but it actually functions as a basic sports watch. It’s an excellent piece for those who enjoy getting outside in nature, for example; hiking, biking, running and swimming.

It’s powered by a Japanese quartz movement called the AL55A, which is not of super high quality but is known to be reliable and efficient. The case comes in at a pretty large 42mm, but because of the smoothness of the case design and it’s gel like silicon strap, it sits very comfortably on most wrist types, large or small. This nifty little timepiece is also water resistant to about 30 meters which makes the Comtex a very versatile piece, especially considering it’s price point.

The buckle clasp that fastens the silicone strap is stainless steel, matching the accents on the dial. The buckle is also quite reinforced and hefty, ensuring the watch doesn’t fly off your wrist during any type of sports of activity.

Final Thoughts

The Comtex Men’s Sports Quartz Watch may not be high end or built with unbelievable engineering, but it definitely exceeds my expectations in almost all departments. It can be used for special occasions, casual time with friends, and also pairs flawlessly with a suit if you need it for work. If your on a small budget and looking for a nice classy little timepiece then definitely give this model a closer look, it may just be exactly what your looking for!
