Diving has become more popular in recent years. Many has decided to take part in it and eventually made it a hobby. There was a time when only a select few are able to enjoy it. Not anymore.
There was also a time when men predominantly partook in diving feats. However, as we all know, that is not the case anymore.
With so many changes that the diving industry is going through, it is vital that it keeps up, including all of the accessories that come along with it. Timepieces such as those made by Phoibos are just some of those which are adapting quickly to these changes. They may be subtle, but they are changes, nonetheless.
This is what they highlight with their newest addition in their line of diver’s watches. The Sea Nymph 300M Lady Diver Watch PX021C was designed to perfectly fit what ladies need when they venture into the depths to experience the beauty the ocean has to offer. In addition, it looks good, sleek, and classy at the same time. With a logo that highlights its place in the depths of the ocean, the Sea Nymph is worth having a look.
The Sea Nymph Look
When we first saw the Sea Nymph 300M Lady Diver Watch, the first thing that jumped out was how its dial looked. The black background created by the dial makes the indices stand out better especially with its neon-like blue tint. The hands are also tinted the same way which highlights the contrast even more.
However, it does not have any indices to indicate the minutes on the watch. In addition, the second hand seems to be out of place with its red color which it tried to counteract with the same hint of blue near its tip. It is more of a personal preference, and you might think differently.
The octopus/kraken insignia at the 12 o’clock mark highlights the strength of the timepiece. It has been believed to be one of the worst monsters of the sea, and this watch can easily be classified as a beast underwater.
It also has a small window/complication at the six o-clock mark that helps tell what the date is. This is useful because, let’s be honest, no matter how alert, conscious, and with it we are, we tend to forget what day it truly is, especially when you are busy with our day-to-day jobs.
Moreover, the timepiece was crafted using stainless steel, polished to give to give a nice sheen on its side, on the screw-down crown, and to its back. It is 36 mm in diameter, with the lugs adding at least eight more millimeters to it.
The added engraving of a diver amongst the sea life including the corals is a much-added aesthetic that fits perfectly with the purpose of the timepiece is.
The watch will be coming with its own built-in leather strap. Although, an optional rubber strap is part of the purchase. You can swap it with the leather band at any time. Maybe, this will depend on where you are going to use the watch because in spite being a diver’s watch, it can always be used for daily purposes.
Specififactions
We should first look at its movement. Phoibos designed the Sea Nymph using the Swiss Ronda 705 Quartz movement. This is a new movement that was designed to last. According to the company who crafted the movement, they estimated it to last 60 months, which, if you think about it, is very long especially if you consider how this movement is normally run on a battery.
Nevertheless, having this movement installed into the Sea Nymph reassures owners that it would not be running out of life in the middle of the dive which is vital because of the bezel’s function.
However, it cannot be determined how many jewels run the movement for the Sea Nymph because this movement has two variations. One with five, and another one with a single jewel. However, it is safe to assume that it was made with the single jewel variation considering how many dial complications are present because the more jewels there is, the more complications there normally is.
The 300M water resistance rating is a testament to its name. Otherwise, it would not be the beast underwater that Phoibos claims it to be because this rating is a standard among underwater diving, and that is where it should be.
for that reason that it has a water resistance rating of 300M, which is basically the standard for scuba diving.
At the end of the day, the Sea Nymph by Phoibos lived up to its name. Although, designed for women, it has the potential to be manufactured to men as well. With the power of a kraken on your wrist, there should be nothing to worry you.
