Introducing the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown

November 23, 2020 by Matthew Catellier Leave a Comment

Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown

Breitling, the well known private watch manufacturing company founded in Switzerland in 1884 and now owned by CVC Capital Partners, recently announced its third collaboration with Outerknown, the sustainable apparel brand cofounded by Kelly Slater, who is known for winning an unprecedented eleven world surfing championships. The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown is a gorgeous, laidback watch inspired by the surfing scene of Southern California and Hawaii in the 1950s and 60s.

A Match Made in Sustainability Heaven

Outerknown and Breitling make the perfect collaborators. Both brands are committed to the  environment, and particularly to keeping oceans and beaches clean. These values were reflected in the watches they made together in 2018 and 2019, and again now in 2020. The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown features new NATO straps made from brown ECONYL yarn that has been innovatively repurposed from nylon waste. While these straps were custom-made for the Breitling Superocean collection, they can be paired with any Breitling watch.

Two Versions

There are two versions of the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown. The majority of the watches come in stainless steel, but you also have the option to opt for a 18k red gold bezel version. This edition is limited to 500 watches and costs £4,150.00 as opposed to £3,400.00.

Breathtaking Design

The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown features arrow-shaped hands, oversized indices, and concave bezel. There’s an engraved Outerknown logo on the caseback. It is powered by the Breitling Caliber 10, which offers a power reserve of around 42 hours. It has a bronze-tinted brown dial and an ultrahard scratch- and shock-resistant black ceramic bezel ring. The watch has a diameter of 25.6 millimeters and a depth of 3.6 millimeters. It is self-winding. It includes Super-LumiNova luminescent hour markers and hour and minute hands.

The overall look of the watch is extremely appealing. It is sporty and casual, with a suave vintage-inspired vibe that’s sure to make a splash, whether you’re lounging in the sun on your next vacation or embarking on a diving adventure.

Purchase Your Watch

The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown is a fitting addition to Breitling’s ongoing legacy of creating sophisticated, quality timepieces. Like many Breitling watches before it, it expertly blends timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge technology.
