Tissot T0636101603800 Tradition Watch Review

Tissot T0636101603800 Tradition Watch Review

With a price tag that rivals most of its competitors, the Tissot Tradition T0636101603800 is among the most affordable models carrying the Swiss watchmaker’s name.

Timeless in their simplicity, Tissot Tradition models radiate with a vintage feel of a gently rounded timepiece. All elements of their design are in the right place and are finished in classical, subtle tones. There are a few shortcomings, but the piece reflects the brand’s high standards of quality quite well and is even comparable to the models well above its price range.

The Design

The design of Tissot Tradition watches features plain and linear elements. The dial carries no more than the brand’s name and year of foundation along with the usual three hands and day window. The large and slightly bolder Roman numerals feature five line symbols in place of the numbers and are spaced with petite minute markers on the very edge of the dial.

Truly, the T0636101603800 watch encompasses everything a dress watch needs to have; thin case with a rather large diameter of 42 mm, a simple HMSD dial design with Tissot’s popular guilloché pattern bordering the silver roman numerals, and a fixed stainless-steel bezel giving the round case a tasteful finish.

The chestnut brown strap matches the white and silver tones of the case resulting in a refined, stylish look. It is a simple design appealing to all who seek a classy watch for their everyday occasions. With so many watches out there featuring such a style, it may be hard to pick the right one. This review is set to help you narrow your decision.

The dauphine hands are a classic pick for your standard dress watch, and the silver finish on this particular model is what really makes it such a sharp piece of elegance. The dial, however, is not overly formal in its style and can be worn for your everyday office activities or at more serious events.

Turning the watch over, you will find a stainless-steel back with a few engraved circular inscriptions referring to the dial material, water resistance as well as a model number and brand name. While the watch is water resistant to the depth of the 30m, it is by no means a watch you should take swimming or diving with you as it wasn’t purposed for such activities. The feature is simply there to enable you to colwash your hands without altering the mechanism. This feature, alongside the watch’s sapphire glass protection, ensure better durability in the long run.

Moving away from the dial, the watch features a dark brown leather strap that can get a tad stiff but fully compensates for that shortcoming with its gorgeous engrossed pattern and color pair. The logo-engraved butterfly clasp latches onto the wrist in a slightly awkward manner but preserves the leather’s original shape. Overall, the watch looks great on a size-matched wrist and provides a solid amount of comfort.

T0636101603800 Movement

At the core of its operation is an ETA Swiss Quartz, which might not be the top-notch movement on market, still delivers a reliable and economic performance. You can expect the Renata battery keep the precise, accurate mechanism going for approximately five years. The movement is perfect for the price point of the watch with the only drawback being a constant need to hand set the date for months that don’t have 30 days.

The Quartz movement in this watch is also responsible for the slenderness of its case which means less scratching of its glass and better fit under the sleeve.

If, however, you do happen to bump this watch against anything, the sapphire glass should handle the impact quite well and maintain the large glass surface relatively scratch-free.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Tissot T0636101603800 is a great entry point to the brand’s large family through the highly sophisticated line of stylish timepieces. Paired with a suit and tie, it is an adequate companion for any formal occasion but can also be worn during more casual events, such as evenings out and daily office work.

For more than 150 years, Tissot has been at the forefront of Swiss watch manufacturing and has pioneered some of the world’s most revered watch concepts.

A name carried on wrists of many celebrities over the years, including Elvis Presley and Grace Kelly, Tissot has been involved with the biggest sporting events around the globe and uses the most reliable movements and material for the creation of their timepieces.

This model from the Tradition collection blends refined looks with smooth comfort and is set to keep ticking for a long time with its accurate and easily maintainable Quartz movement. Overall, a priced piece that will get you the most for your money. Certainly not the price you would have expected from a classic Tissot dress watch.
