Victorinox are famous for their Swiss Army knives, and their reputation for clean, elegant designs is upheld by the Women´s 241491.
Coming with a stainless-steel case and rubber band, the Victorinox Women’s 241491 Analog Display Swiss Watch is durable and designed for activity. The anti-reflective sapphire glass display is ideal to protect against scratches, and it has a reliable, if unremarkable, Swiss quartz movement (accurate to -10 / +20 seconds per month.)
241491 Technical Details
The watch is only waterproof to 100m, so whilst it is suitable for swimming, snorkelling and surface-level water sports it is not suitable for diving. Nonetheless, it has the unidirectional bezel function often found in diving watches, so it is possible to use the watch as a countdown timer. Although this is normally used in diving watches to measure how long you have been underwater, it still might be useful for timing other activities or (water-based) workouts as the watch does not have a standard chronograph (timer) function, although it does also have a date function. On the plus side, the 241491 timepiece does feature a lock-down crown, so it’s properly water resistant (and Victorinox offer the ability to test water resistance at any of their support centers, once your watch gets older.)
Fashion
On the appearance front, the 241491 Victorinox is sporty but somewhat understated. The pure-white band features a print of the Victorinox logo, and has a nice pattern, but it does not jump out at you. The black bezel contrasts nicely with the white band and dial, and the silver markings, but the end result is still somewhat restrained: perfect if you want a sporty but classy design, less so if you would prefer something eye-catching.
Performance & Comfort
Finally, we can move on to the question of wearability. The rubber band is comfortable and stays in place well, and it is easy to clean despite being white. Meanwhile the dial is not clogged up by any chronographs, making it easier to read… although the white hands on the white background of the dial are not the clearest combination. Oddly, the dial the 241491 is easier to read in low light, when the hands glow in the dark. This shouldn’t be a big problem though, unless you suffer from severe sight difficulties, in which case you may wish to go elsewhere.
It is worth noting that the watch band comes with a buckle, which means that it is not possible to greatly extend or reduce the size of the band as it is not possible to add or remove links. For most women, this should not be a problem. However, if you have especially small or large wrists then you may wish to try the watch on yourself in store to ensure that it fits well.
Overall, the Victorinox Women’s 241491 Analog Display Swiss Watch is elegantly practical, and ideal for ladies with a hands-on or active job, or who do a lot of sport. It is comfortable, water and scratch resistant, cleans easily, and the white color scheme leaves it looking smart too.
