Watch Brand Pronunciation Guide

Watch Brand Pronunciation Guide

Watch brand pronunciation can be difficult at times, even for me and I’ve been a watch collector for many years now. I’m also French, as you can probably tell from my last name; Catellier. Even as someone who speaks french fluently it feels like some of these brands have some fairly complex brand names. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for those watch enthusiast who don’t know how to speak French, German, or Italian at all.

Today you’re in luck, because we’re going to debunk the mystery of some of these watch brand pronunciations, right here on the Watch Review Blog. I will record myself pronouncing each French and Swiss watch brand name (slowly) with a high quality microphone, and you can play each audio clip to hear it and learn how to pronounce each one properly. My friend Gaetano who speaks German and Italian has recorded himself pronouncing the German and Italian Brands. Sit back, put on a pair of headphones or raise your speaker volume, and enjoy our watch brand pronunciation guide!

Hi, you got Girard Perregaux wrong (the g in Perregaux should be a hard one like in gut) and Tissot as well (where the double s is not pronounced z but s like in kiss).
We can also hear that the names probably pronounced with a French Canadian accent but overall the list is good and really close to how the names would be pronounced in Europe.

Hey Xab, thanks for the feedback. I’m going to re-record Girard Perregaux and Tissot. Good ear with the accent, I’m from Montreal. Cheers
