Yema Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Team & Urban Traveller Watch Review

Yema Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Team & Urban Traveller Watch Review

Yema recently announced a partnership with the Alpine Endurance Team; a partnership that will last for the next three seasons of the FIA World Endurance Championship. With this partnership, Yema has created a new watch that will be worn by all members of the Alpine Endurance team throughout a variety of circuits like Le Mans. This team watch is also set to be released to the public, and may just be the perfect timepiece for any racing enthusiast.

Design

Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Watch Design

The design of the Alpine Endurance Team Watch is very much inspired by its purpose and heritage- racing. The dial sports a deep black color, with thick white indices and a date window at three o’clock. A Yema Logo sits just below 12 o’clock and the words “Alpine Endurance Team” can be found above six o’clock, alongside a French flag.

The bracelet is made from stainless steel and really brings back an 80s-inspired look. The bracelet is integrated which gives the bezel a flat surface to raise from. Speaking of the bezel, it’s bi-directional and actually serves a pretty interesting function, allowing drivers to calculate the average speed of their car in conjunction with the elapsed time graduation of the inner bezel.

The hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for easy legibility during dark environments. The hour and minute hands are made from brushed steel to add to the 80s look, and the second hand is coated in the same blue as Alpine’s race car, and ticks in a sweeping motion.

Finally, both the crown and the case back sport the Alpine team’s endurance team logo, with a stamped hydraulic press, polished and brushed for a high-quality finish.

Calibre YEMA2000 Movement

The Yema Rallygraph is powered by the company’s own YEMA2000 movement. This movement is self-winding and makes use of a ball bearings rotor to keep time. Using a total of 29 rubies, the stock movement is accurate to +/- 25 seconds per day. However, during assembly, this movement is adjusted to provide an updated accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per day. You’ll also get a power reserve of 42 hours.

This isn’t the most accurate or reliable movement in the world. But, considering the price and the purpose of the watch, there shouldn’t be many complaints here.

In the Box

In the box, you’re going to receive a leather travel case which is of surprisingly high quality and will definitely help to protect your watch when you go traveling. You’ll also receive a two-year International Warranty leather card, which will be useful if you ever run into an issue with your watch.

Finally, you can also order the Alpine Endurance with a Rallye black leather strap. This looks great, especially with the black dial variant, and gives the Alpine Endurance a much more dressy look. The strap comes with a polished steel buckle engraved with a Yema logo.

Price and Availability

If you want to get your hands on the Yema Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Team Watch, you will have to wait until at least September for it to be shipped. However, you can pre-order it now for $990, which includes a 14-day money-back guarantee, free shipping, and a two-year warranty included. You may also be able to get a 10% discount by talking to the chatbot on Yema’s website.

Yema Urban Traveller

Yema Urban Traveller

Yema has also recently released a new version of its popular Urban Traveller model, with a few notable differences. Primarily, the dial has been switched for a textured honeycomb option to give the timepiece a more elegant look. The Urban Traveller is now also sporting an AP Royal Oak style integrated bracelet to give the Traveller a much more sporty look.

The Urban traveler similarly sports the company’s YEMA2000 in-house movement, giving the watch a power reserve of 42 hours and an accuracy of +/- 10 seconds a day post-assembly.

There are a few different color options, but by far the most intriguing are the blue and salmon dial versions. The blue dial is very versatile and could easily be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. And the Salmon dial screams luxury and elegance, making it a perfect choice for higher-end occasions.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the Yema Rallygrap Aline Endurance Team Watch is an incredibly unique timepiece and perfect for any big-time fan of the Alpine endurance team. The build quality is very good for this price point, and if you want a watch that pays homage to your love for racing, this timepiece is a perfect choice. However, if you simply want a reliable and well-made watch for under $1000, you’d probably be better off purchasing the Urban Traveller or looking at other brands in the price range such as Tissot and Seiko.
