Anonimo Nautilo Automatic DLC Case Watch Review

Source: Time and Tide

Founded in 1997, Anonimo is a Italian made watch with a Swiss movement. Anonimo is known for making high quality, robust watches, with a view toward functionality. Anonimo believes that the watch should not be worn for the label, but rather as an expression of the user.

Design/Size

The Anonimio Nautilo with the DLC case is a redesign of the modern dive watch. With a 45.5mm diameter this watch definitely is on the large side. The Nautilo has a 2 part case which includes a a stainless steel cushioned shaped base to the watch. On top of the case there is a dlc coated case which tops the stainless steel case, giving both protection and style. On the left side of the case the stainless steel has 12 vertical engraved lines which act as a grip for holding the watch. On the right side of the case you have the crown located at 4 o’clock which is protected by a crown guard. On this crown you will find an engraved Anonimo logo. The crown guard is unique as it runs the length of the case and blends into the smooth look of the watch. The crown guard is also notched to match the stem, which addes additional protection

This watch has an (ceramic) aluminum black bezel. The bezel is very interesting because it only displays2 numerals at 20 and 40. The rest of the bezel is contains hash marks and at 60 minutes there is a red square with a lume dot in the middle. From 60 minutes to 15 minutes the hashes are red. The watch is available in 4 colors. This review is for the red one. The bezel is unidirectional. It is very stiff and sturdy which gives the feeling of accuracy. Each movement of the bezel has an audible click. The piece has a domed antiglare sapphire crystal that covers the dial.

The dial on the Nautilo is simple but at the same time complex. You have a shiny black dial with circular indices at 1-3, 5-7, 9-11 o’clock. You have 2 indices at 4, 8, 12 o’clock. All of these indices are coated in superluminova. The lume doesn’t take long to charge up and once charged the lume can last for a very long time. The three hands all have superluminova, to provide visibility in the dark. At the end of the second hand you will find the Anonimo logo. This logo acts as a counterweight for the second hand. At 6 o’clock you will find the date. The date has a black background with contrasting white numbers. The black, red and white of this piece all contrast each other to create a beautiful and striking design.

The case back is very interesting, although it does not have an exhibition back.. It contains a round shape with 2 prongs at two hour intervals. . On the back you won’t find much besides the water resistance, Serial number, and model.

The watch has a 200m water resistance as well as a push in helium release.

Nautilo Movement

This piece has a very good Sellita SW200-1 movement. The movement is very smooth and accurate and is self-winding as well as mechanical. . Some features of this movement include fast date correction, Stop-seconds which means when you pull out the crown the second-hand stops. While the movement is very smooth it ticks very loudly. This piece has a 38hr power reserve and ticks at 4HZ. The 38 hour power reserve is about average compared to other watches in this category.

Bands/straps

The watch comes with two bands. The first is a black rubber strap. This strap has a very interesting design. It is made up of various rows of square cutouts. The cutouts are used to allow maximum movement and bending of the strap. The strap has 8 holes for adjustability which are spaced somewhat far apart to allow this watch to be worn on a bigger variety of wrists. The buckle on this piece is very cool. At the end of the buckle you have an anonimo logo. The strap also has 2 loops.

The second strap is a red and black nato. This strap uses high quality materials and is built very strong. The strap has 3 loops and 10 holes of adjustability. The strap is very comfortable and feels nice on the wrist.

Opinion

This watch is an amazing buy from an great company. Pricing is reasonable. The movement is fluid and robust and lasts a long time. Inside the box you will find two straps. Impeccable craftsmanship as well as incredible design you win’t find in other watches. I would highly consider this watch if you are looking for a strong quality made diving watch, that is also stylish.
