Citizen Men's BL5250-02L Titanium Watch Review

Citizen has been creating moderately priced watch for decades, and their technological advances have brought convenience and quality to the masses for even the pickiest watch connoisseurs. With hundreds of Citizen watches to choose from, finding one that speaks to your individual tastes and needs is relatively simple. With their release of the Eco-Drive collections, keeping your timepiece operational has become as easy as getting outdoors in the sun, or placing the watch on a window sill to charge. No more worrying about batteries ceasing at the most inconvenient time, or losing minutes per month because of a lack of sufficient power. The Eco-Drive collection by Citizen is both reliable and affordable and perfect for any occasion. These watches work with natural or artificial light, to keep you punctual with time to spare.

Classic Design with Modern Details

The Citizen Men’s BL5250-02L Titanium Eco-Drive Watch has timeless elements like the shape of the dial and the numbers and combines those with the modern textures located on the face and in the chronograph subdials for a perfect pairing. The dark navy blue face with grid texture is so rich in color, it can almost look black in certain light. Three chronograph dials are textured over the silver subdial faces for added flair. Paired with Titanium, to give this watch its lightweight feel and durability, the overall look of the dial and case is dramatic and bold.

With the supple pigskin crocodile embossed band that has contrasting white stitching, the Citizen BL5250-02L is perfect for casual wear as well as a day at the office. The strap measures 19mm in width and comes with a buckle closure for easy sizing. If you are looking for an oversized dial watch, this is not the watch for you. It does have a good sized case dial measuring 42.9mm with a thickness of 13mm.

BL5250-02L Movement and Performance

The BL5250-02L Titanium Eco-Drive Watch has a 270-day power reserve with the solar cell and a perpetual calendar that automatically adjusts for all month lengths and leap years to 2100. You can find the date window at 4 o’clock and will see that it is easy to read with the white background and black numbers. The Japanese quartz movement is precise and quiet on the analog display, and overall does not lose time on a regular basis. Some have said that it is accurate to1-5 seconds per 3 months.

If the chronograph feature is important for you, the BL5250-02L has three subdials. The 120-second Chronograph measures up to 60 minutes, and there is a 12/24 hour time subdial. You can enjoy the dual time display for easy figuring when traveling and there is a handy, although quiet, alarm feature that is relatively easy to set. For added features, Citizen has included a tachymeter inner chapter ring and a unidirectional bezel that is sometimes used to measure the time elapsed under water. This is a handy feature considering the Citizen BL5250-02L is rated for water resistance to a depth of 200m/660ft. This is a watch that can be used for surface water sports as well as skin diving and snorkeling.

Saving You Time, Giving you Peace of Mind

The Citizen BL5250-02L comes with a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer if any problem should arise. A protective mineral crystal dial window with a non-reflective coating will protect your watch face from some scratches but isn’t as strong as the sapphire crystals that come standard with high-end watches.

With a power saving function and a low charge indicator, you will never have to worry about time standing still. The BL5250-02L is a snap to read, has luminous hand and hour markers for concise time display day or night, and changing the leather strap to another band is simple to do. If you are looking for a watch that combines timeless elegance with a modern twist, this timepiece is an excellent choice.

Whether you need a piece that has standard functions or you are looking for a watch with a ton of bells and whistles, this specific watch from Citizen is sure to please. Although using some of the additional functions is a little daunting at the beginning, you will be content with the results after a little practice. The overall weight and design have a masculine feel without being overly pugnacious. It captures the eyes of onlookers with its color combination and overall appeal. The Citizen Men’s BL5250-02L Titanium Eco-Drive Watch is an excellent candidate for your next watch if you are looking for a modestly priced timepiece that is both accurate and aesthetically pleasing.

I have one and like it. Citizen should have put a sapphire crystal on it. I would have gladly paid another $50-100.
    Otherwise perfect.
